It was an Angry Bird birthday party. And the kids had a blast. Coqui wore his angry bird shirt. As well as the birthday boy and his little sister. I had never seen a pink angry bird shirt.... now I got to go look for one.

A great invention

My photo on Saturday comes with a story today.

Yesterday, we went out for dinner. A simple dinner at an Asian place was just what everyone wanted. We walked in, got a table, got the menus handed over, and the kids got theirs. If you have kids, you know, that most child-friendly places have coloring pages (with the kids menu on the back). If there is a coloring page, you need crayons. ALL the restaurants we have ever been in have crayons that are - this might come as a surprise but it's a fact - round. Yes, round as an can be. And if you ever sat with your (very active) children, you know that those round crayons can fall off the table. Yes? Are you with me?

Well, this was a surprise, because I was handed this:
Yep, these are crayons that are not round, they are triangular. They can NOT fall off the table, as the design on one side advertises:

Well, they felt nice in my hands when I drew pictures with Peanut. Coqui liked drawing with them when he played Connect with Daddy:
And here is a picture of Peanut. Her attention span is much smaller, so she still gets bored easily.
It is amazing that such a simple invention can make a Mami so happy. It was a nice family outing after a hard week of work and just 'stuff' happening. I am thankful for those times.

We were over our friend's house today and Beth read the kids a story:

Amazing how focused they all are. As you can see, it was the story of Cinderella, and even the boys were interested. Only my little Peanut couldn't sit still enough:

A while back, the Hubby got into shooting and started to really like it. In May, the youth group from our church had a silent action - to win were services provided by the youth. We had won babysitting for four hours by a lovely youth member and her mom. So far, we never got to use it because of summer vacation and such. But this Saturday, the Hubby said it would be good to have a date and go shooting. I am not very comfortable with the idea of shooting, but I never tried it, so I guess my inner curiosity won. We went shooting at a nearby shooting range... and out to lunch.

Here is my target practice - the Hubby calls me Annie Oakley now, because it doesn't look too shabby for a first time shooter... All I can say: "He's dead!"
I don't know if I ever go back - as I said the idea is still awkward to me. But for one time, it was fun... and I know now that I can protect my own house!

On top of that, the babysitting went very well - we came home to two smiling children that had a blast playing an entire morning with someone that paid undivided attention to them. I am so happy that I did not come home to tears in Peanut's eyes.... this is huge progress! Thank you, lovely babysitter.

This picture is really from last night. When Coqui asked me what we gonna have for dinner, I asked him back what he is making.... and wouldn't you know it, that my little helpful helper ran into the kitchen screaming that he knows how to make dinner. And within the next five minutes, half the stuff out of the fridge ended up on the table - he made dinner!
His creation, he called it: 'pizza quesadilla' in form of smiley face ! He did an awesome job in provided for all four of us! I am a very proud Mami!!!

I will start something new...

I don't have alot of time on the weekend, at least not in order to spend it in front of the screen, aka computer. So I thought, why not just pick a picture of that day and post it for the weekend. And then I will see you all back on Monday.

So here is the first one:
Yes, I did more sewing, this time an apron out of a kitchen towel. It's super easy, lots of fun, and so not my idea. So here is the link to the original - I was just a copy cat.
